Sylvan Park: a boundary description and a greenway connection

The Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association describes the neighborhood using Charlotte Avenue on the north, Richland Creek on the west and railroad tracks on the south and east. It also describes the 3.8-mile Richland Creek Greenway loop connecting the neighborhood with McCabe, White Bridge Pike, Harding Road and Nashville State. This is a useful community description, not a legal parcel boundary or a promise that every home has the same access. A buyer can test it by starting at the actual front door, locating the intended greenway entry and checking crossings and grade along the route. Metro’s West Nashville history identifies today’s McCabe Park as the former McConnell Airfield, built in 1927 and used as an airport until 1939. That history gives the park a specific local context; the present-day property decision still depends on the route, ownership documents, condition and applicable rules.
